Evening Lecture:

Astro*Carto*Graphy and Your Heart

This lecture will introduce you to the art of Astro*Carto*Graphy, a form of locational astrology promoted by the late Jim Lewis, focusing on how changing your location can bring out different qualities in your personality. For instance, if you move to a place where Mars is angular in your chart, you may be more assertive, and if Venus is strong then you may find love. But wait a minute. It is NOT as simple as all that. This lecture will show you how and why it is not that simple, focusing on how location affects the nature of your relationship. Good love in one place can turn into bad love (or no love at all) in another. There will be many examples of famous couples and clients whose relationships can be defined by the places where they lived, met, became intimate, or even did business. There are examples of people who found love in one place and lost it in another, and vice versa, leading to insights you can apply to your own life. But mostly it will show you how you can calculate the relocation chart, how you can read and interpret the Astro*Carto*Graphy map, and finally how to view two charts side by side in different locations.

Workshop:

Predictive Power of Eclipses:  Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know about Lunar and Solar Eclipses

Eclipses have always been the best predictors of natal and mundane events from ancient to modern times. Their appearance in the sky heralds kings, reveal secrets, and are responsible for dramatic rises and promotions, as well as falls from grace. In this lecture, we will begin with a review of how eclipses are formed, and the length of their activity and significance. After looking at examples from past eclipses, we will focus on the two eclipses that just passed—October 18 and November 3—and how they resonate with the 2014 eclipses, especially the next two, which will occur on April 15 and April 29.  We will focus on the degrees in which they occur, including the Indian naksatra, and will discuss the Saros and Metonic cycles. We will especially see the various times prior to and after the eclipses that they are activated by transiting planets. These will be interpreted from the perspective of mundane astrology (including Astro*Carto*Graphy) , as well as natal astrology, so that you can view the meaning of life-changing events presently unfolding in your chart and the world around you. Case studies as well as charts from the participants will be discussed. Bring your charts and come prepared with your own stories (This lecture is appropriate for both Western and Indian astrology.)
