Ophiuchus and the Galactic Alignment of 2012
Why has the constellation of Ophiuchus the Serpent-Bearer as the 13th sign recently emerged
into the collective consciousness through the media hype? Ancient astronomers
associated this image with the Greek and Egyptian gods of healing who knew the
mysteries of rebirth. Ophiuchus has his foot poised above the heart and center
of our galaxy, alerting us to the timing of a celestial alignment that occurs
only once every 26,000 years. Explore the profound connection between celestial
gods, myth, cosmos, and psyche.

A Trilogy of Ancient Hermetic Medical Astrology

• Egyptian Decans: Star Gods of Health

Learn how the thirty-six star decans, first found in the
Pyramid Texts c. 2200 BCE, came to be incorporated into the earliest Egyptian
zodiacs as gods who both sent and averted illness. Hermetic texts give
instructions for determining the decanic god governing over health afflictions
in the nativity and the making of a protective talisman with a specific herb,
stone, and metal. (Based upon original translation of Sacred Book of Hermes
to Asclepius on the Thirty-Six Decans)

• Zodiacal Herbals

The earliest zodiacal herbals attributed to both
Thessalus (who claimed to have received the material in a vision revelation in
an Egyptian temple in Thebes) and Hermes identify the plants that are sacred to
each of the signs and planets and give instructions on the best times for
gathering these plants and formulas for making medicines to heal various
ailments. (Based upon original translation of The Sacred Plants of the Twelve
Zodiacal Signs and Seven Planets)

• The Moon: Critical Days and the Course of an Illness

Explore how an ancient treatise taught how to judge the
cause, nature, critical days, and prognosis of an illness based upon the
location and condition of the Moon at the time the person became ill. (Based
upon original translation of Iatromathematika: From Hermes to Ammon the
Egyptian)
